American artist and painter based in Vermont.

Style: Emotional Realism, no matter how abstract the work gets.

I started a house painting company in college to pay my BFA tuition. After graduation it grew into a large commercial outfit, and for years we hired fellow artists, musicians, and smarty pants ne'er-do-wells who somehow came together to do great work, from wallcovering inaugural ballrooms in D.C. to painting hotels throughout New England.

I fell in love with the tools of the trade: paint, plaster, trowels, tints, sandpaper, big spaces and a relaxed attitude with a keen eye for color and detail.

That work led me back toward art through commissioned fresco-style murals, to creating Watching Angels, a month-long international public art installation in Brattleboro VT featuring more than 100 artists and two 24-foot outdoor chalkboards asking passersby, "What Are You Grateful For?".

Along the way I co-founded a national food company, but painting kept calling me back. These days I'm in the studio full time, working on big, bright canvases meant to warm and lift the spaces they live in.
